Collection
DANA LEE BROWN is a collection of bespoke textile clothing, crafted from fibre to finished garment in collaboration with farms and mills. Each piece carries a hand-chronicled label tracing the journey of its textile—beginning at the farm.
Guided by a bioregional design approach, the project prioritizes fibres sourced as close to home as possible, following the logic of land, ecology, and long-standing relationships. With the exception of hemp, all fibres in the collection are currently sourced within North America, reflecting an interest in rebuilding local textile supply chains and pushing creative boundaries within a regional framework.
We warmly invite you to visit our Studio/Shop on Bowen Island, BC, where you can gain insight into each custom textile and experience the slower pace of life and connection to nature that inform the DLB collection.
DANA
Daughter of Shiu Hon Lee and Donna Jean Brown, Dana grew up in Northern BC and Vancouver before moving to New York to design menswear. There, she eventually founded her eponymous label, DANA LEE (2008–2016), before taking a five-year hiatus from the garment industry.
Her prior experience with local garment and textile production serves as a foundation for this deeper exploration into "local" with a focus on agriculture, fibre and yarn production.
Since 2018, Dana has resided on NEXWLÉLEXWM (Bowen Island), the ancestral and unceded territory of the SḴWX̱WÚ7MESH ÚXWUMIXW (Squamish Nation), where her brand is also based.
